Newcastle Transfers: 5 Replacements For Yohan Cabaye

Sky Sports this afternoon reports that Arsenal have made a £12 million bid for Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye. The moves comes as pressure mounts on Gunners manager Arsene Wenger to make headway in this summer's transfer market following his side's 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa on the opening day of the Premier League. And news that he wants Cabaye shifts pressure onto his North East contemporary Alan Pardew, who is now in a fight to keep hold on one of his key players. For Pardew, this summer has been more about retaining the stars he has got rather than bringing in new recruits, with club captain Fabricio Coloccini and more recently last season's top goalscorer Papiss Cisse threatening to walk out at various stages. Fortunately from Pardew's point of view, he has been able to persuade the aforementioned duo to stay - but he may find it more difficult to keep Cabaye considering the lure that comes with playing for a top Premier League club. Newcastle cannot offer European football this season and narrowly dodged relegation last season, which could all add up to Cabaye joining Arsenal. And if that happens, here, we take a look at 5 potential replacements. Click "Next" to begin.
