Newcastle Transfers: 6 Deals Pardew Could Complete Today
5. Selling Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa And Cheick Tiote
All Newcastle transfer windows seem to come with a compromise, and it seems far too pleasant at the minute that United have managed 9 incoming transfer deals without having to sell more than Mathieu Debuchy from the first team. We can perhaps expect sales in that regard: some suggested that Moussa Sissoko might be on his way out after a strong World Cup, and there is almost unending speculation linking Tim Krul with a move to a "bigger" club. But it looks like Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Cheick Tiote are the more reasonable assumptions. In honesty, the French defender is likely to leave initially on loan, with Roma interested (and probably not capable of spending a lot) but Tiote seems likely to bring in a reasonably large transfer fee. His removal from the first team picture this season seems to suggest he's on his way out, since there hasn't been a sufficient explanation of his mystery injury. A Russian move might be best for both parties.
