Newcastle United PREDICTED XI (And Score) Vs Man Utd
8. Attacking Midfield - Gabriel Obertan (Swansea Rating - 6)
Gabriel Obertan has done enough to earn himself another start on the left hand side of the attacking three. The pacy winger was Newcastle United's only attacking option against Swansea and was involved in the few positive passages of play that the Magpies managed to create. Ayoze Perez and Rolando Aarons are waiting for their chance, although it's difficult to know if Steve McClaren has faith in the pair after limited involvement so far.
There is no better place to make your debut than Old Trafford and due to Moussa Sissoko's groin injury it's likely that Florian Thauvin will do just that. Sissoko's woeful performance against Swansea will not be missed and it will be refreshing to have a more natural winger playing on the right-flank. The French midfielder will have to track Luke Shaw and Memphis throughout the game and it will be interesting to see how industrious the 22-year-old will be. Thauvin will add a more compact and direct attacking threat, something the Magpies have lacked during their opening two Barclays Premier League games. The Frenchman can operate on either flank and likes to dribble, take on defenders and can be highly effective on the counter-attack.
