Newcastle United's Worst-Ever Premier League XI

4. CENTRE-BACK - Sol Campbell

Newcastle United: 2010-11 Nationality: English

Position: Centre-Back

Cost: Free Transfer (Signed from Arsenal)

Premier League Appearances: 7

Premier League Goals: 0

In one of the most hotly-contested areas of Newcastle United's worst-ever Premier League XI, Sol Campbell just about gets the nod. At his best, the 73-cap England international was exceptional for Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and even Portsmouth - but for Newcastle he was simply abysmal.

Signed on a free transfer by Chris Hughton following Newcastle's promotion in 2010, Campbell made just seven Premier League appearances for the Toon - including a truly awful display during the 4-0 loss away at Stoke City.

It was a shame to see Campbell reduced to such performances, but for Newcastle he was anything but an international-class centre-back.
