The first choice left back has come under intense criticism this season for some inept performances, but with his increasing experience, it would be likely that the Head Coach at United - whoever that may be come next term with Benitez set to jump ship if we go down - would stick with Dummett. The Welsh international may not be having the best of times in England's top flight, but like many graduates of the Newcastle youth team, he may find his level in the second tier. His competition in the Championship may well be exactly the same as it is in the Premier League, with Massadio Haidara likely to remain on Tyneside if no French suitors offer him an exit route, but like in the top tier, Dummett would be favourite to make the starting line-up.
