Newcastle's Top-10 Summer Striking Targets Ranked By Goals-Per-Game Ratio
7. Diafra Sakho - 0.38 (59 in 157)
2014-15 GOALSCORING RATIO: 0.46 (12 GOALS IN 26 GAMES) A player Newcastle could have signed for less than £5 million last summer, the Magpies balked at such a price and three-cap Senegal international Sakho instead found himself at West Ham United. The 25-year-old has a career scoring ratio of 0.38 goals per game (59 strikes in 157 games) for Metz, Boulogne and the Hammers. Interestingly, despite Metz having been in Ligue 2 when Sakho was there, his scoring ratio has actually improved since moving to England. During the 2014-15 campaign, Sakho netted 12 times in 26 matches for West Ham - meaning he scored an average of 0.46 goals per game. A proven Premier League finisher, the Magpies will have to part with more than double the sum they would have had to pay in the summer of 2014 if they want Sakho now - but the Senegal forward could be worth it.
