Newcastle's Top-10 Summer Striking Targets Ranked By Goals-Per-Game Ratio
6. Patrick Bamford - 0.43 (48 in 112)
2014-15 GOALSCORING RATIO: 0.44 (19 GOALS IN 43 GAMES) The first player on this list to move ahead of Papiss Cisse's career club goalscoring ratio, Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford has consistently been linked with a move to Tyneside this summer. If Steve McClaren does decide he fancies a reunion with a forward he previously coached at Derby County in 2014, then he will be signing a player with a career scoring ratio of 0.43 goals per match (48 strikes in 112 matches) - or almost one every other appearance (for Nottingham Forest, Milton Keynes Dons, Derby County and Middlesbrough). In fact, while on loan at the Boro last season, Bamford almost identically replicated his career ratio by returning 19 goals in 43 appearances - an average of 0.44 strikes per game. True Bamford has never actually made a first-team appearance for Chelsea and he has yet to play in the Premier League, but he has bags of potential and could be utilised anywhere across the forward line. Will the Magpies decide that a reported £8 million fee is worth it for the 21-year-old?
