NFL Draft 2020: 13 Biggest Picks You NEED To Know

2. Tight End - Devin Asiasi & Dalton Keene

Round 3: Picks 27 & 37

As if it wasn't enough for Bill Belichick to be one of the best coaches of all time, he's also a master strategist when it comes to the NFL draft. Rarely will he make a pick with conventional thought, and it's almost impossible to predict what moves he will make. Going into the first day, experts were trying to align the New England Patriots with one of the quarterback prospects. Originally sitting at the 23rd pick, it was assumed Love or Eason would get a chance to replace Tom Brady.

Belichick instead traded out of the first round, picking up more mid-round picks. Historically, New England has made greater use of later round picks and rarely utilizes first round talent. After taking defensive players with the first three picks, Bill used the 27th and 37th picks in the 3rd round to take tight ends. It's important to note the last time the Patriots drafted two TE's in one draft was 2010 when they picked up all-star Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez.Ignoring his dark history, Hernandez was a very talented player and Gronk is a future hall-of-famer.

If Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene are anywhere close to those two, this will have been another great haul for Belichick. Asiasi out of UCLA is 6'3" and has great athletic ability to go along with crisp route running. Virginia Tech's Keene is slightly taller and more versatile, but is considered a bit of a reach since Belichick traded back up to nab him at 37 over fellow TE Adam Trautman.
