3. Ten Clean Sheets So Far This Season (Only Four Teams Have More)
As mentioned, Norwich have performed well defensively in home games this season but their total clean sheets in both home and away games is worth a mention. So far this season, they have kept 10 in their Premier League games; only Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and West Ham have kept more. There is little doubt that performing well defensively for the side plays a big part in taking points, since the Canaries have a very poor record at coming back into games after conceding especially away from home. Keeping things tight and hoping to score the odd goal is very much the strategy, and its certainly something the club should stick with in hopes of survival. Its certainly a formula that has worked out pretty well for other clubs this season such as Everton and West Ham while Southampton were very strong defensively earlier in the season. Its a little bit tough to evaluate this from Norwichs point of view, because overall they have the third worst defence in the league. However, other clubs around them such as Fulham, Cardiff and West Brom dont keep clean sheets on such a regular basis.
