Norwich City: 5 Reasons Defence Can Save Them From The Drop

2. Norwich Have Scored Only 21 Goals This Season (Only Cardiff And Palace Have Scored Less)

Scoring goals has been a problem for Norwich this season, and there is no point denying that is the case; the club have managed only 21 from their 28 league games, only Cardiff and Crystal Palace have performed worse in this regard. It€™s interesting to note that Norwich scored 41 goals last season, so unless they can scored 20 from their last 10 games; it appears they have gone backwards. Of course we can analyse the reasons why until the cows come home, and we still probably wouldn€™t know the answer. However, one explanation is the team has struggled to score from set pieces in comparison with last season. What this does all mean though is that the team has to be solid at the back, to ensure it doesn€™t become a major problem. The fact that the Canaries have now kept more clean sheets than they did last season shows there is some progress in that regard. It appears that continuing to keep clean sheets, especially from home games will be important for the reminder of the season. It€™s certainly true that more goals would be helpful €“ but the most vital thing is the club keep playing to their strengths.
