Premier League: 10 January Transfers That Make Sense

9. Spurs To Sign Ryan Bertrand

Man Utd aren't the only side who need a new left-back in January. Tottenham have looked bereft at fullback at times this season with Benoit Assou-Ekotto on loan at QPR and injury to Danny Rose causing the defender to make just four appearances so far this season. Kyle Naughton and centre-half Jan Vertonghen have each stepped in at left-back at various stages this term but that will not do and Spurs need a more natural fullback. Ryan Bertrand meanwhile just needs to play football. The forgotten Chelsea man is very much on the fringes at Stamford Bridge with Ashley Cole and even César Azpilicueta keeping him out of the side. The England international has played a little over an hour of Premier League football this season and surely now is the time to move on. A move to White Hart Lane would make sense.
