Premier League: 12 Candidates For Player Of The Season So Far

3. Michu (Swansea City)

Swansea's summer signing of the then relatively unknown Michu from Spanish side Rayo Vallecano, was originally met with skepticism from the Swans fans as when he signed for Swansea, Michu was not exactly the most renowned star in La Liga. However, after seeing his outstanding debut season, that £2 million transfer now looks to be one of the bargains of the century. Michu's emphatic entrance in England has taken the Premier League completely by storm. His performances have been a real revelation for Brian Laudrup's side and he has scored and impressive 15 goals in 25 goals in his debut season so far, (making him the third highest goalscorer in the league.) In fact his arrival signalled the start of the Spanish revolution that was to undergo at Swansea, as he was swiftly followed by fellow Spaniards, Pablo Hernandez and Angel Rangel. The level-headed composure that Michu demonstrates in front of goal, coupled with his strength and array of other physical assets, has won him many admirers at the Liberty Stadium. (Not to mention his infamous "I can't hear you" celebration.) There is no doubt that with Michu's performances this season, he would have attracted a worldwide audience, from both inside the walls of the Premier League and from abroad. So I'd imagine that Swans boss Michael Laudrup would do very well to keep the Spanish superstar at the Liberty by next season, as it seems as though Michu is destined for European football. http://youtu.be/X2jio4_Egmk
