Premier League: 12 Candidates For Player Of The Season So Far

4. Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur)

gareth bale This highly rated Welsh winger has definitively come of age this season and shown the world-class quality we all knew he possessed. This is partly due to the departure of the likes of Luka Modric and Rafael Van Der Vaart, as Bale has gladly taken over the reigns of talisman for the Tottenham team. Bale has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 13 goals in 23 Premier League games - but these impressive stats don't half show how instrumental Bale has been for Spurs. He has terrorized defenders and midfielders alike with his dynamism on the left flank and as well as having the ability to distribute oodles of first-rate crosses, he has exhibited his abilities in superbly striking the football from a dead-ball situation. In fact such have been the quality of Bale's performances this season, that Spurs Boss Andre Villas Boas has drawn up comparisons between the Welsh Superstar and Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo. Could this be a precursor that Bale is destined to join the Spanish giants this summer for what is sure to be a monumental fee? Who knows. All I know is that Bale, with a concoction of blistering pace and technical ability, is widely considered as the best that the English Premier League has to offer, and I am in no doubt that come the summer, he will be subject to a numerous number of big money bids from abroad.
