Premier League 2018: 10 Promoted Players To Watch Next Season

6. Barry Douglas (Wolves)

Wolves made an insane amount of great deals last summer, but while the more exotic arrivals like Rúben Neves and Diogo Jota made all the headlines, the arrival of Scottish full-back Barry Douglas initially went a little under-the-radar.

Douglas had enjoyed a solid but unspectacular career up to that point, spending time in his homeland with Queen's Park and Dundee United before heading off for a few seasons abroad with Polish side Lech Poznań and Turkish club Konyaspor.

Little was made of his arrival at Wolves, but he went on to become one of the side's greatest players as they stormed to the league title. Demonstrating remarkably precise crossing and passing skills, Douglas contributed an incredible 14 assists to his side's efforts last season, as well as netting 5 times himself.

A set piece specialist, the creative Scot was regularly seen storming up and down the left wing, whipping in a great delivery one minute and then making a vital block at the other end of the pitch the next. The 28-year-old was the best full-back in the Championship last season, and if he can take that form into the top flight, opposition defences will need to keep a very close eye on him.
