Premier League 2018: 10 Promoted Players To Watch Next Season
4. Diogo Jota (Wolves)
As he watched his side struggle to break down the likes of Iran and Morocco during the World Cup, Portugal coach Fernando Santos may have wondered if he might have made a mistake leaving Wolves' superstar Diogo Jota at home.
Wolves' fans certainly would have said that their top scorer deserved a call-up after netting 17 goals and creating 5 more over the course of an incredible debut campaign in the English game. Mostly operating on the left wing, Jota was ruthless from day one in the West Midlands, scoring again and again after moving to the club on a loan deal from Atlético Madrid.
The 21-year-old had spent the previous season with Porto, netting 8 times in 27 appearances, and his prolific spell with Wolves encouraged the club to make his deal a permanent one in January of this year.
A top class finisher, Jota looked a real cut above most other Championship players last season and even outshone most of his teammates, becoming a Wolves icon in just 12 months. He'll surely continue to be the team's main goal threat next season and it'll be interesting to see if he has the skills to maintain his form against Premier League opposition.
