4. Roberto Mancini & Carlos Tevez

"Roberto Mancini" and "controversy" are headlines that never seem too far apart, and his bust up with Balotelli was his
second with one of his own players at the Etihad. Before the training ground scuffle with his fellow Italian, Mancini came to blows with former Man United striker Carlos Tevez, though this time, the blows remained verbal ones - no handbags at dawn this time, unfortunately. But it was still a bust up that almost spelled the end of Tevez' City career. In 2011, The Argentine apparently refused to warm up as a substitute against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, which led to Mancini stating that the player "was finished" at City.*
The Consequence Tevez went back to his native Argentina after being told by Mancini he would not play for the club again. This cost the player £9 million in club fines and lost bonuses, but he didn't seem to mind too much as he was snapped happily playing a round of golf or two during his self-imposed exile.** It appeared as though he'd never pull on the City shirt ever again, until he made a dramatic come-back to the side, inspiring them to the Premier League title last season.
