Premier League: 5 English Players Better Suited To Foreign Leagues
3. Adam Lallana (Southampton)
One of the new breed of English midfielders that is starting to get recognition thanks to his tireless displays for club side Southampton is Adam Lallana. The Saints' Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino has transformed him into a bustling midfielder that is at the heart of everything good the team does. The 25-year-old has adapted extremely well to Pochettino's new high pressing style, which is more in line with European clubs, and Lallana would no doubt seamlessly slip straight into any top club abroad. His performances are only going to get better, even more so following his recent success and first call up to the England national team, and his energetic displays would give any side a boost. His ability to adapt to multiple systems represents something that has been badly missing from English players in recent years, and his versatility in a variety of positions mean he is more than capable of making it in Europe should he fancy the challenge. The former Saints youth player is in line for a call up to the World Cup squad in Brazil next year, and his performances at the tournament could bring his skills to a wider audience, and should he decide to leave Southampton, he could well have offers from foreign clubs on the table.
