Premier League: 5 Eredivisie Imports Set To Shine

3. Vurnon Anita €“ Ajax to Newcastle United

What a difference a change of Coach can make. When Martin Jol€™s tempestuous time at Ajax came to an end Vurnon Anita was a developing left-back. Enter Ajax legend Frank de Boer who saw far greater potential in moving the youngster into a defensive midfield position. The results were phenomenal, not just beating off strong competition for his place in the side but proving to be absolutely crucial to the way Ajax played and their Championship winning success. The 23-year-old Dutch international can certainly defend but it is his tactical awareness and ability with the ball that made him such an important cog in the finely tuned Ajax wheel. Newcastle fans should be salivating at the prospect of a well-balanced Tiote, Cabaye, Anita midfield bossing games in the middle third.
