Premier League Transfers: 10 Spanish Stars Who Could Move To England

1. David Villa

David villa When Spain's all time leading goal scorer comes on the market, as David Villa has, Europe's elite clubs begin to circle. Following his move to Barcelona from Valencia prior to the World Cup in 2010, David Villa experienced instant success, scoring the third in their 3-1 demolition of Manchester United at Wembley in the Champions League final to cap off a memorable first season for the Catalans. However Villa's Barcelona career has never fully recovered following his leg break suffered whilst playing in the World Club Championships the following season. He has since failed to successfully nail down a role in Barcelona's starting eleven following increased competition from Sanchez, Pedro, Tello and Cuenca, not to mention Lionel Messi. And now that Barcelona have completed the signing of Neymar, Villa is certain to leave the Nou Camp. The battle for his signature has been contested fiercely by North London rivals Arsenal and Spurs, with Arsenal, for a long time seeming to be Villa's likeliest destination. However recent reports indicate that despite Tottenham's failure to secure Champions League football for the upcoming campaign, they have secured a consolation prize by beating Arsenal to the signing of Villa. If these reports are true, Villa would be a fantastic consolation for Spurs fans to soften the blow of missing out on Champions League football. Moreover, at a reported £12 million, Villa would be one hell of a bargain.
