Premier League Transfers: 5 Defensive Players Bigger Clubs Should Target

3. Mile Jedinak (Crystal Palace)

Crystal Palace certainly haven€™t had the greatest season in general terms and currently sit 18th in the league, even after the shot in the arm that Tony Pulis' arrival gave them - but Mile Jedinak has been their standout player. His defensive orientated performances have been vital to his team, and if Palace do survive this season then the Australian will have had a significant influence in that. Overall, he has been the 15th most consistent player in the league this season with an average rating of 7.47. The player has excelled in particular from winning aerial challenges, and making critical interceptions. Jedinak is now 29 years old, so wouldn€™t be seen as a long term option for any of the big clubs. However, the impact he has made means that big clubs may well be looking at him. Prior to coming to England, the player played most of his football in Turkey and his native Australia. It€™s fair to say that he also played a critical part for Palace last season in what proved to be a successful season as they won promotion to the Premier League. Jedinak has now played over 90 games for his current club as well as representing Australia a total of 42 times.
