QPR vs West Brom - Match Preview
A win for either team tomorrow would send them into the top ten and well away from the relegation scrap that many had predicted.
Queens Park Rangers should feel that they've made a pleasing start to the season as they sit just underneath the top 10. Although they suffered a 4-0 battering on the first day of the season against a Bolton side who are struggling at the moment under Owen Coyle, they've bounced back and have recorded valuable victories over the likes of Chelsea, Wolves and held off in-from Newcastle on home soil a few months ago. But one thing Neil Warnock's men have been missing lately is goals. Heidar Helguson has been the only real threat infront of goal for them recently with five goals this season, but with DJ Campbell out injured and Jay Bothroyd not making the fastest of starts to his Rangers career, they do look rather ordinary in the final third. But I'm sure a few January signings will cover that. The London side lost last time out to Norwich 2-1 at Carrow Road, a game where they should have probably returned to London with all three points but a couple of bad defensive mistakes cost them. They've been dangerous at home so far this season so the Baggies should be aware. West Brom have had a wonky start to their 2011-12 campaign. One week they are pulling off a wonderful display, the next getting smashed 2-0 or 3-1. Hodgson's side lost to Tottenham Hotpsur 3-1 at the Hawthorns last time out, but the week before that they recorded a 2-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers. A win for either team tomorrow would send them into the top 10, a target both teams will be looking for come May. Shane Long is a doubt for the fixture, though, which is bad news as far as Albion are concerned as the Irishman is their top scorer. But Paul Scharner is back to pair up with Youssouf Mulumbu in midfield. It'll be a very tricky match for the Baggies.
