Rangers Transfers: 10 Signings To Secure Promotion

1. Stevie May (Sheffield Wednesday)

Since the summer of 2015, Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Stevie May. Previously, the striker was a success in Scotland. Scoring 23 times for St. Johnstone, he also netted 19 times for Alloa Athletic and 25 times for Hamilton Academicals during loan spells. Fans of all 3 clubs adored the man, and he was considered a talisman. Reportedly, May is a boyhood Rangers fan, something which might make any transfer talks a little easier for Rangers. Moving to England, he started plying his trade at Sheffield Wednesday, but sometimes struggled to get into the first team regularly. Across 39 appearances, he only scored 7 times. This led to a move to Preston North End. Rangers would offer a reprieve from English league hell for someone who isn't cutting it. The system down South is well-run, but a difficult place for out-of-favour strikers to nagivate. That's exactly why Rangers ended up purchasing Martyn Waghorn from Wigan Athletic, and Stevie May could be the kind of ideal, goal-scoring forward to follow suit.
