Rangers Transfers: 10 Signings To Secure Promotion
6. Lewis MacLeod (Brentford)
It's somewhat ironic that Lewis MacLeod made the move to Brentford just over 12 months ago. In January, 2015, Mark Warburton was then the manager of the London-based club, and he is of course now the gaffer at Glasgow Rangers. A lot of fans at Ibrox were sad to see the talented young midfielder depart, even if talk of him someday playing for teams like Arsenal and Manchester United may have been far-fetched. Rangers bagged in excess of £1 million for the prodigious youngster, but the sale reeked of desperation from the old regime. Eager to get any funds they could through the door, there's a chance the previous board room team would have accepted the price of an average taxi fare for one of the best talents to come through the doors of Murray Park in years. Injuries have blighted MacLeod's time South of the border, and he hasn't really made any appearances for Brentford. The English Championship may be awash with more cash than the Scottish version, but teams like Brentford can't afford to have lame ducks on their books. This is something Rangers may be wary of, but a fit-again MacLeod would be a brilliant signing.
