Rangers Transfers: 9 New Signings Fans Should Be Excited For

1. Bruno Alves

By far the most high-profile player Rangers have signed in a while, 35-year old Bruno Alves is a world-travelled centre back with more experience than the past few Ibrox backlines put together. Not only has he won championships in Portugal, Russia and Turkey, but he was also part of Portugal's EURO 2016 success last Summer.

One year on, the veteran defender is now part of Glasgow Rangers, and that must thrill even the most jaded of fans. Finally, Gers supporters can forget having to put up with Rob Kiernan giving away possession or Danny Wilson lumping an aimless ball up field, because Alves is a no-nonsense CB who has proven his worth countless times over.

Alves is accustomed to playing with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and João Moutinho in the national team, so lining up against sides such as Hibs, Aberdeen and Celtic shouldn't phase him. With Bruno at the back, fans can relax a little more even when attackers give the ball away.
