Ranking Chelsea’s Premier League Goalkeepers – Worst to Best

4. Carlo Cudicini

Chelsea Career: 1999-2009, 216 appearances. If it weren€™t for injuries and falling behind the likes of Cech and Hilario, Cudicini could well have become one of the Premier League's greatest 'keepers. He certainly had the potential. Featuring only a handful of times during his early days with the club, the Italian had a slow start to life in London, but in his second season he made much more of an impact, challenging Ed de Goey for the first-team spot. Cudicini was voted Chelsea€™s Player of the Year for the 2001/02 season, and was awarded with the ITV€™s goalkeeper of the season the following year. An injury during the 2003/04 campaign knocked him of his good form, and Petr Cech's arrival spelled the end of Cudicini's control over the first-team spot. Despite the Italian's long spells out of the first team, his availability to the team and performances when in form earn the player a slot at the better end of our list.
