Ranking Liverpool's 10 Worst Players Of The Season So Far
10. Philippe Coutinho
Although last season it was the likes of Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling who received the bulk of the credit for Liverpool's superb attacking play, Coutinho was also majestic. His creativity was often a joy to watch, and he scored some crucial goals. After a brilliant pre-season this summer, many were penciling in the Brazilian as the Reds' star man this season. It hasn't gone to plan so far, however. The 22-year-old has found himself in and out of the side, which isn't his fault in fairness, and he has struggled to have the same influence on matches whenever he has played. He has barely assisted or scored yet in 2014/15, and too often he has been guilty of trying to play the impossible pass. His work-rate has left a lot to be desired too, and his decision not to track Wayne Rooney in Sunday's 3-0 loss to Manchester United was inexcusable. There can be no doubting the talent at Coutinho's disposal- it was an absolute crime that he didn't make Brazil's World Cup squad- but he has to start showing more consistency if he is to reach his vast potential.
