Sociedad's Swiss striker Seferovic must have a good season in front of goal with the World Cup coming up. He is one of several young attacking options brought through by wily veteran coach Ottmar Hitzfeld. Seferovic has only netted twice in 18 appearances for club and country this term, however, so needs a big performance here ahead of the November international friendlies. It's a tall order against a defender of Ferdinand's calibre. Yes, Rio is definitely in his autumn years and that explains why Moyes was linked with bringing younger legs into defence in the Sunday tabloids. If Seferovic is smart he will avoid getting into a physical battle with the other Red Devils centre back Nemanja Vidic. Ferdinand is the logical choice for him to play off. Sociedad's wide players should more than occupy the fullbacks, so Seferovic must make clever runs into the box. Movement is key in a lone striker role and in front of a worldwide television audience this could be his big break. Seferovic did cut something of an isolated fixture at Old Trafford at times though. Perhaps home comforts bring the best out of him both his goals so far this term have come in San Sebastian. Have your say on the key battles below.
