Southampton 0-3 Chelsea: Premier League Player Ratings

Chelsea

Petr Cech: Punched a Ramirez corner clear, but had nothing else to do. Flapped at a corner after the break, but got away with it. Another clean sheet for the Czech stopper. 5.5/10. Cesar Azpilicueta: Brave block to stop Lallana from scoring. In the wars a little bit, but limited Ramirez well. 6.5/10. Gary Cahill: Centre back kept Rodriguez in his pocket. A clean sheet was his reward. 6.5/10. John Terry: Blocked a shot during second half goalmouth scramble. Blues club captain remains solid and rejuvenated under Mourinho. 6.5/10. Ashley Cole: Fantastic block to deny Lallana and then made a last-ditch interception on Rodriguez. These challenges alone should restore some of Mourinho's lost faith. Even at 33 he was the best defender on the pitch today. 7/10. Ramires: Twice denied by Kelvin Davis in first half. Managed to avoid rash fouls for once. 6/10. John Obi Mikel: Nigeria holding player Mikel was up for the battle, but never sparkles. 5/10. Andre Schurrle: Fired an early effort wide and saw a second attempt blocked. Offered nothing else, so Mourinho subbed him quickly after the break. Must take his chances or he will find himself on the fringes. 5.5/10. Click next for more Chelsea player ratings.
