Southampton 0-3 Chelsea: Premier League Player Ratings

Jack Cork: Booked for a foul and subbed against his former club. Compelling evidence of why he never made the grade at Chelsea here. Saints fans won't like to hear that, but the truth hurts. 4/10. Morgan Schneiderlin: French anchor returned from a ban and allowed the front four to do their thing. Offered little protection for his back four, however, against Oscar and Willian. 4.5/10. Adam Lallana: Southampton's best player by some way. Saw a shot blocked by Ashley Cole and then again by other Blues fullback Cesar Azpilicueta. If only one of these had a gone in. 6.5/10. Steven Davis: Northern Ireland midfield was rather in the background here, but put in the odd decent delivery from corners. Subbed. 5/10. Gaston Ramirez: Booked for a foul on Ashley Cole early in second half. Curled wide at the death, but did not justify a starting place here. 4/10. Jay Rodriguez: Cole blocked his first half effort. Is better in wide areas than playing through the middle. 5/10. Subs: Nathaniel Clyne: Brought on at half time for Shaw. Booked for foul on Azpilicueta. 4.5/10. Rickie Lambert: Given half an hour when Southampton fell behind. Headed straight at Cech from close range. 5/10. James Ward-Prowse: Introduced for 15 minutes, but the match was lost. Rating N/A.
