Southampton 0-3 Chelsea: Premier League Player Ratings

Juan Mata: Interplay with attacking players was decent enough, but hauled off by Mourinho early second half. Looked unhappy at being subbed. Mata is a model pro, who is not riled easily. Could he be thinking of a January move? 5.5/10. Eden Hazard: Denied by Saints stopper Davis after lovely one-two with Mata. Assisted Oscar goal with a lovely through-ball. The Belgian's fine form has been key to Chelsea success over the festive period. Subbed. 6.5/10. Fernando Torres: Popped up all over the frontline early on with a shoot on sight policy. Headed in from close range on the hour as a reward for a shift up top. 6/10. Subs: Oscar: Our man of the match. Brought on early second half by Mourinho for Mata. Celebrated his introduction by being booked for diving by referee Martin Atkinson, but then showed what he can do. Made Torres's goal with a deflected cross-shot that hit the far post. Assisted the second for Willian with lovely footwork and skill. Capped his display by scoring a third goal on the counter. 8/10. Willian: Another player the Special One brought on early for Schurrle. Justified Mourinho's change as he curled in a second goal after being teed up by his compatriot Oscar. 6.5/10. Michael Essien: Thrown on for final five minutes. Rating N/A.
