Southampton: 5 Potential Replacements For Mauricio Pochettino

4. Neil Lennon

With the Scottish Premier League declining in both competitiveness and quality and Celtic running away with the title for yet another year, Neil Lennon could be set for a new challenge. His Celtic side are 10 points clear at the top and well on course for a third-straight Scottish League Championship, which would be their 45th in total. Is it now time for the northern Irishman to cast his net as a Premier League manager and really test himself in a more competitive league? Lennon will be familiar with Victor Wanyama of Southampton having sold the powerful midfielder to the south coast side last summer, and worked closely with the player up until his exit. He was able to get the best out of Wanyama during his time at Celtic Park with the 22-year-old scoring six SPL goals in his final season in Scotland, though he is still to open his account at St Mary's. Lennon's arrival as new Southampton manager could potentially reignite the Kenyan, who has thus far struggled in England, while Lennon himself has the credentials to succeed. He knows the English game well having played for Manchester City, Crewe, Leicester and Nottingham Forest, and has won two Scottish titles and cups since stepping into management in 2010.
