5. Lee Nguyen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1IaK3fHbQ4 Nguyen first emerged in European football as a twenty year old playing under Koeman at PSV Eindhoven, during which period the Vietnamese American midfielder made his debut for the US national team. A couple of years later Nguyen disappeared somewhat from the international radar and the American national team when taking a huge pay increase to play in Vietnam's V-League. Koeman, however, has obviously remained aware of his former player and has been keeping tabs on him since his return to America with the Massachusetts based New England Revolution in 2012. Saints scouts were reportedly impressed enough with the versatile number 10 on a recent trip to suggest a January bid is likely. This year Nguyen emerged as arguably the star player of America's Major League. The goalscoring midfielder racked up an impressive 18 goals and 5 assists in 32 appearances as his team made it all the way to the final, losing on extra time to LA Galaxy. Nguyen was also nominated for the Most Valuable Player of the Season award opposite former Premier League stars Robbie Keane and Obafemi Martins and ex-Saint Bradley Wright-Phillips. Having only recently returned to the national team, there may be some doubt about Nguyen's ability to gain a work permit and there is no guarantee that he would make the step up from America's MLS to the Premier League, but his talent is obvious.
