Spurs 2-1 Sheriff Tiraspol - Player Ratings

Brad Friedel: Veteran American keeper had very little to do, making a single save in the first half. Beaten on his near post after the break by Isa from a tight angle after parrying the initial effort from Cadu. Hugo Lloris has nothing to worry about. 5/10. Kyle Walker: Put in a few good crosses, but looks reluctant to do so at times. Suffers from the fact there is no real competition for his place and unlikely to oust Glen Johnson as England's first choice. 5.5/10. Younes Kaboul: Deflected Isa shot onto post when Sheriff countered during the first half. The visitors' goal came out of nothing, but down his side of defence. Captain Kaboul saw a clean sheet and Spurs' perfect defensive record in Europe ruined here. 6/10. Jan Vertonghen: Caught out a couple of times, but Spurs got away with it. Hard to tell whether Chelsea's David Luiz or Vertonghen spends more time in opposition half. He get Tottenham going out of defence though. 6/10. Kyle Naughton: Afraid to use his left foot and caught upfield when Isa hit post on the counter during first half. As Danny Rose injured and with Assou-Ekotto loaned to QPR left back berth is a problem for AVB. 5/10. Click on next for more Tottenham player ratings.
