Spurs New Manager: 10 Replacements For Tim Sherwood
5. Glenn Hoddle
Following Andre Villas-Boas' sacking in December, Glenn Hoddle was strongly linked with taking over at Spurs. Indeed, Hoddle insists he nearly became the manager until the end of this season and a number of Spurs fans and former players, such as Gary Lineker, were calling for that to be the case. Inevitably, Hoddle will be linked to the role again now that Tim Sherwood has gone. As a former Spurs player - and indeed a Spurs legend - and former manager, he knows the club inside out and, as a flair player himself, his exciting style suits the club well. In addition to Spurs, Hoddle has also managed Swindon Town, Chelsea, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as England, and he will always be considered a big name in football. He was due to manage the Ledley King Guest XI at King's testimonial last night, but backed out at the last minute. Could it be that he was too busy discussing potentially replacing Tim Sherwood? We doubt it, but we wouldn't say it's completely out of the question at this stage.
