Spurs Transfer News: Christian Benteke Puts Tottenham On Alert With Quit Threat
The Sun. Tottenham lead the chase for the highly-rated 22-year old, while Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are also interested in the Belgian international. Benteke has struck 23 goals in an impressive debut season in the Premier League following his move from Genk, and was the top scorer at Villa Park this season. But he warned:
"If Aston Villa say I must stay, I wont necessarily accept that. I do not in any way want to feel I didnt get the most out of my career. I try to get everything.The Belgian moved from Genk for £7 million last season but has endured a difficult first season in England in the sense the club were almost relegated to the Championship. And though he has three-years of his Villa contract left to run, he has hinted he has bigger ambitions than the struggling Midlands club.
