Spurs Transfer News: Luis Suarez Targetted To Replace Gareth Bale
The Daily Star, Tottenham want to bring Liverpool's Luis Suarez in if Gareth Bale heads out of the door for Real Madrid, bringing them on a potential collision course with North London rivals Arsenal. Liverpool have spent the last week insisting Suarez is not for sale, despite keen interest from Arsenal, but the Star say that is not putting off Arsenal, Spurs, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, or Zenit St Petersburg, who could test their resistance. And Spurs will make a move if Bale does head to Spain to join Madrid, after his own protracted summer transfer saga, for a deal the Star say could be worth around £87m. Daniel Levy knows he will need a marquee signing to replace Bale, if that happens, and while they would have the funds available after that world record deal, they might struggle, as Suarez insists he wants to leave Anfield for Champions League football. That might push Arsenal and Bayern Munich to the front of the queue, and the Star say that Munich are stepping up their own interest in the striker, with the possible advantage that manager Pep Guardiola is the brother of Suarez's agent, Pere Guardiola. So, what do you think? Will Suarez still be at Liverpool when the transfer window closes at the start of September, or will one of his many suitors pull of one of the coups of the summer?
