7. Andrea Ranocchia (Inter Milan)

Andrea Ranocchia put a series of top European clubs on alert this month when it was revealed he was set to hand in a transfer request. Ranocchia has fallen down the pecking order at current club Inter Milan, whose manager Walter Mazzarri is now prepared to listen to offers for the centre-half. Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal or Tottenham have all been mentioned as possible destinations in January, and will be buoyed by news that the Italian wants out of the San Siro. Spurs need a world-class centre-back almost as badly as they need a new left-back and experienced Italian international Ranocchia would certainly be a step in the right direction, though Galatasaray are trying to steal a march on their rivals in the race for the defender.
