Spurs Transfers: 10 Players They Must Sign This Summer
4. Luke Shaw (Man Utd)
Rebuilding Luke Shaw's confidence after a disastrous four-year spell at Manchester United would be an enormous task for Spurs, who can ill-afford to "take a punt" on someone given their tight budget.
But let's not forget that the 23-year-old has previously worked with Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton, where he showed his best form in the 2013-14 season, culminating in a surprise World Cup berth with England.
Combine that with the fact that his market value is likely to have dropped after his attitude was publicly questioned by those who watch him train every day, and it may well be a gamble the club can stretch to.
Hell, since United appear to be keen on current Tottenham left-back Danny Rose, it's not totally out of the question that the two parties may well agree to a straight swap. Everybody wins (except Tottenham obviously - they never win anything).
