2. Christian Eriksen
Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has urged his side to land his former Ajax teammate. If Spurs fail in a bid for Willian in January, then Eriksen would be the ideal alternative. The Danish midfielder is out of contract in 2014, and could be available as early as next month. Vertonghen said of his former teammate:
Technically hes one of the best players Ive played with. Hes left and right footed. Hes always fit. Since he was 17-18 hes played every game for Ajax and has never been injured. When he gains a little more physical strength he can play in every team. I dont want to talk for him but hes a good player and I think a good player can play here.
Eriksen has been at Ajax his entire career and could be reluctant to leave the club due to his ties there. He has scored six times so far and provided 10 assists, making him a wanted man in Europe. Source(s):
