Spurs Transfers: 5 Players They Must Sign

2. Nikola Milenkovic (Fiorentina)

For the past couple of seasons, Serbian defender Nikola Milenkovic has been regularly linked with some of the biggest teams in world football - in particular, Manchester United and Manchester City - and he could be just what Tottenham are looking for.

Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are arguably the best central-defensive partnership in the Premier League these days, but Vertonghen will turn 33 and Alderweireld 31 by the time the 2019/2020 campaign comes to an end - not to mention Alderweireld's current deal expires at the end of this coming season.

The point is, Spurs are at a pivotal stage where they need to start looking at the future of their backline. Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth are both impressive young centre-backs, and 21-year-old Milenkovic would be a great addition to those defensive ranks.

A composed figure who reads the game well, Milenkovic likes to play out from the back, and he's also been utilised as a full-back for Fiorentina at times - another plus point for a Tottenham squad currently in major need of cover in both full-back positions.

The Viola seem open to selling one of their prized assets should a club be prepared to top the €60 million offer Man Utd reportedly made last winter.
