Spurs Transfers: 7 Players They Should Have Signed With The Bale Money

4. Loic Remy

Loic Remy is another player who has previously been linked with a move to White Hart Lane but, after a decent second half of last season with struggling Queens Park Rangers, Spurs missed the boat when it came to signing him last summer.

The Frenchman moved to Rangers in time to join their relegation fight last season and his goals were their best hope when it came to saving them from dropping down to the Championship. Unfortunately, they weren€™t quite enough and he soon found himself as a Championship player.

Newcastle United €“ the team he had previously rejected to head to Loftus Road for more money €“ saved him from the second tier with a loan move that has seen him score thirteen goals this season - all in the Premier League. Those goals - and more - could have been Tottenham's. Their highest scorer has a mere ten and, in a better quality team than that one he plays in at St. James' Park, Remy could've hit the career-defining twenty mark.

Remy brings with him Premier League experience and a proven record of being able to score in the top flight €“ something that is invaluable in any striker signing and something Spurs' summer signings last year so obviously lacked. If Queens Park Rangers fail to gain promotion this year, Spurs should look at a cut price bid for a striker they should already have on their books - but they will certainly have competition for his signature.
