12. Backed Into A Corner
In 1986, in the aftermath of the Bradford City fire, United were forced to demolish the 80-year-old West Stand on the Barrack Road side of the ground amid concerns of its safety and commenced work on an impressive looking £5 million stand to be named the Milburn Stand, as a lasting tribute to Jackie Milburn.
It was opened during the 1987-88 season. Here it is nearing completion.
