5. Keiren Westwood
One option for Paolo Di Canio in the goalkeeping department next season is to stick with what he has and put his faith in the club's No.2 Keiren Westwood. The 28-year old joined the Black Cats from Coventry City in 2011 but only featured twice for the club last season during their League Cup campaign, while he made just the nine Premier League appearances the season before last. But the former Manchester City star could be called upon to step into the breach next season and could play a more integral role in the side. Westwood is a product of the Manchester City youth academy but failed to break into the senior set-up, finding himself loaned out to Oldham in 2004 before being sold to Carlisle United. He found himself at Coventry in 2008 before moving to Sunderland three years later, where he could be called upon much more regularly next term. Capped 15 times by the Republic of Ireland, the veteran's experience could prove useful to the Black Cats next season.
