Swansea Transfers: 5 Signings That Would Prove They Mean Business Next Season

2. Alvaro Negredo

Alvaro Negredo Swansea have quite sensationally been linked with a move for the Sevilla striker this summer. The former Real Madrid man was prolific last season, netting 25 La Liga goals in 36 appearances, making him Spain's fourth-highest goalscorer behind Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Radamel Falcao. Like a lot of Spanish clubs, Sevilla have been hit by worrying financial problems, and Negredo is valued at a reduced fee of £15 million. Michael Laudrup has already landed one Spanish sensation for the Swans in Michu - could he outdo even himself however by signing Negredo? Laudrup has hardly disguised the fact he is likely to do his shopping in Spain once more this summer, with a deal for Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas already secured. Negredo would also seem to be affordable, too, and given Sevilla's plight they could be tempted to cash in. The Swans can even offer the star European football next season, something Sevilla cannot. However, there are much "bigger" clubs than Swansea interested in the forward, such as Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund, and Laudrup would blatantly face some stiff competition if his interest is as serious as it has been claimed. Nevertheless, the capturing of Negredo would exemplify Swansea's ambitions next season and prove they really do mean business.
