The first real dud in this XI, Alberto Moreno is, by some margin, the most expensive Liverpool left back, but unfortunately not a very good one.

After impressing at a young age at Sevilla, Brendan Rodgers paid out a huge fee for the Spaniard's services and it all started very promisingly, especially after scoring an impressive goal away to Tottenham Hotspur.

That was as good as it got for Moreno however, as while he was pretty good going forward, his defending was far from satisfactory, constantly making individual errors and mistakes.

Rather ironically his two worst performances, came against his former club. He was singled out for criticism following Liverpool's defeat to Sevilla in the 2016 Europa League Final and in a Champions League match the following year, he was directly at fault for conceding two goals, as the Reds blew a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 in injury time.

Klopp's patience ran out with Moreno and he lost his place in the first team, initially to James Milner and later Andy Robertson.

Despite only making five appearances last season, he still received a UCL winner's medal before returning to Spain via Villarreal.
