Tottenham 2-2 Man Utd: Premier League Player Ratings

Antonio Valencia: More than occupied Vertonghen, but crosses were largely well defended in the middle when they came over. Chiriches came across to double up on the Ecuador captain. Subbed. 6/10. Shinji Kagawa: Drifted to the left wing after starting in the hole. Quiet compared with his performance in the Champions League midweek. Subbed. 5/10. Danny Welbeck: Fluid in attack, swapping with Kagawa and Rooney and this gave Spurs problems. Won a penalty by using his pace. Clever skills got him to the byline later on, but not takes on cutback. Subbed. 6.5/10. Wayne Rooney: Easily the man of the match. Saw shot blocked before doing the same defensively in his own box early on. Took his opening goal well and blasted a penalty down the middle. Rooney is now United's joint top scorer with Robin van Persie, and deputizing ably for the injured Dutchman. 8/10. Subs: Javier Hernandez: Given 20 minutes in place of Welbeck, but never played in behind the Tottenham defence. Red Devils don't look like playing to his strengths under Moyes. Rating N/A. Nani: Came on for the last ten minutes, so hardly had any time to make much of an impression. Rating N/A. Ashley Young: Joined Nani in a late introduction. Rating N/A. Who was your man of the match?
