UFC: 10 Candidates For Anderson Silva’s Next Fight

7. Jon Jones

This one isn't as much out of left field as probably out of the question, but it's still a dream fight for a lot of fans. For a solid year or so, a superfight between Silva and Jones was teased by Dana White, but never came to pass. There are some logistical issues with the fight: Jones has several legit challengers right now, and what about the title? The best bet would be to make it a non-title affair, unless Silva decided he wanted to go up in weight full time. Then there's the weight difference. Weight classes exist for a reason, and many expect Jones to one day test the waters at heavyweight. There's 20 pounds between Silva and Jones on paper, though both walk around heavier than advertised and cut weight leading into a fight. Would Silva, coming off a year-long plus layoff, really have a chance against the most dominant light heavyweight in history? While Silva's fought light heavyweights before, he's never fought one at the level of Jones.
