9. Harry Redknapp

Why He Should: When Redknapp resigned as Queens Park Rangers manager earlier this season there was a growing sense in the press that this was probably his last job. However, he has a long history with West Ham and a lot of affection for the club, having started his senior playing career there and managed them from 1994-2001, so it's difficult to see him rejecting the role if offered to him.

His time at Portsmouth and Tottenham also shows that he's a very successful manager; he won the FA Cup with Portsmouth and took Tottenham from bottom of the table to a Champions' League quarter-final over the course of his time there. Does this mean he has the experience to lift the Hammers higher than mid-table? Absolutely.

Why He Shouldn't: That sense in the press that he might be done could be key. There's a feeling that his best days as a manager might be behind him. While this is something Redknapp would be keen to dispel if he did take the job at Upton Park, it makes him more of a risk for Gold and Sullivan.

He did get relegated with QPR, and their return to the Premier League was also disastrous. He only got nineteen points from twenty-three games, and zero from away games, lending some credence to those claims he's past it.
