West Ham United: 10 Managers Who Could Replace Sam Allardyce

7. Eddie Howe

Why He Should: Having guided Bournemouth to the Championship title and Premier League status for the first time in their history, wildly defying pre-season expectations, Howe has built himself a reputation as a manager able to get the best out of a group of players. This is a vital skill to have for a good manager, and getting more out of the Hammers players could propel the club onwards and upwards.

He's also widely regarded as one of the best young managers in the country and, while he may not have the big name status as some of the others on this list, his appointment would allow West Ham to build a solid foundation for future success.

Why He Shouldn't: It's highly unlikely that Howe will want to leave Bournemouth at this time. This is the club that he's spent most of his career at, that gave him his first chance in management, and that he has guided to three promotions over two spells at the club. He's unlikely to give up the dream of managing them for their first season in the top flight.

Added to that, he's never managed in the Premier League before, and it remains to be seen how he handles the step up. It would be a huge gamble for the Hammers if they signed him before he shows he can handle it.
