York City 2-1 Newcastle United - Player Ratings

1. Karl Darlow - 6 (Replaced By Rob Elliot After 46 Minutes)

Despite being beaten twice, Darlow actually had very little to do at Bootham Crescent. For the first goal he perhaps should have done better as the finish looped over him, but the trialist's curling effort for the second was simply unstoppable as it landed straight in the top corner. Worryingly Darlow had one moment where he managed to balloon the ball out of the stadium rather than actually down the field as he tried to clear it - and suddenly it became evident to Magpies supporters that they might have yet another keeper who can't kick properly...

Rob Elliot - 6

If anything, Elliot had even less to do than Darlow. Although he collected a couple of floated crosses, Elliot was not tested at all by the York forwards throughout the entirety of the second-half. He looks likely to be NUFC's third-choice keeper going forward, with Freddie Woodman having left on loan for Crawley Town.
